(Performance Installation still shot)
Re-purposed steel frame found onsite at the Newport Substation. Re-glazed and blacked out, the reflective surface provided a blank target resembling both mirror and monitor.
The glass screen was then fatigued and eventually punctured with arrows launched at close range from a traditional long bow (self bow).

This image came about as a result of the destruction of a digital camera, causing the appearance of the cracked LCD screen.
What struck me as perturbing is that the image of the shattered screen, emanating light between black shards, is visible from beneath a discreetly intact panel of glass. It appears as though the physical damage is only visible as a 2D projection -as if the camera is performing its own death.
I was compelled to photograph the screen with a second digital SLR camera.
I see this process as a speculation on the physical limitations and fallibility of digital media, despite its transcendent potential. A premise which becomes a tautology as the image is perpetuated by a secondary digital device.
